1) Why did you decide to join Jim’s Pest Control?

The work is great and I really enjoy treating clients pest issues and the brand is one of the most recognised in Australia. Jim’s is excellent especially when you apply what Jim’s teaches you about customer service and apply the well developed professional customer service approach.

2) What are your values?

Professional approach to my work. Honesty, integrity achieve a great result that the clients appreciates.

3) What do you like to do outside of work?

I play guitar and sing in a country rock band, having played in rock bands for many years. I also follow the Crows in the AFL.

4) What tips can you give to customers?

Build a great business relations with your pest technician and listen to their advice. We have been trained in all aspects of pest control and all though this might be the first time you have seen this pest in your home, it is probably the tenth time we have seen this pest issue this week. As we treat the pests on a regular basis we have seen all levels of activity and will know the best approach to fix the pest issues.

5) What has been one of your most interesting jobs?

A house that I did a few years ago when I was training, I couldn’t believe the amount of cockroaches that were living in this home. As soon as you opened the door and looked up you could see 30 to 40 cockroaches staring back. We then applied a brand new product that was out, that meant we could actually apply a smaller amount of chemical. It was absolutely amazing to go back 7 days later and the fact that I could not find a single live cockroach. It was great to know that I was part of a group that were using the most up to date chemicals and techniques.

6) How has your Jim’s Pest Control Franchise been for you since joining?

It has been good so far, the level of support for me has been just right and it is really re assuring to know I have the full support and back up of a very experienced pest technician anytime I need it. It still is early days though, but applying what Jim’s have taught me in regards to customer service I think I will be very successful.

7) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Hopefully having a great regular client base and still enjoying the work and having more time play in my country rock band.

8) Pest issues that you find in your area and unique content.

In Seaford we actually have all the pests that you see here in Adelaide. We also seem to see a lot of mice, rats and spiders which tend to hang around the creek, rivers and parklands we have in the area. We are now seeing a lot of termites attacking homes in the area as the chemical barriers that were installed originally when the homes were being built are now breaking down and termites are starting to invade homes. We are also seeing an explosion in pigeon numbers which is a direct result of solar panels being installed which is the perfect sheltered environment for birds to nest under.
